1. The Local-First Promise

JobDex is built around a single foundational architectural decision: it is entirely local-first. We do not have servers, databases, or analytics engines in the cloud designed to ingest your data. Everything happens exclusively on your machine.

2. Data Storage & Local Encryption

100% of your contact records, pipelines, notes, and email history are stored locally in an encrypted SQLCipher AES-256 database residing internally within your operating system's application support directory. Nobody but you has access to it. If you uninstall the app and securely delete your local database, your data is gone forever—we possess no backup copies.

3. Google OAuth API — Exhaustive Disclosure

JobDex is a native desktop application that integrates directly with your Google account to streamline your job search outreach. To provide this functionality, JobDex requests OAuth permission via the following scopes: gmail.modify and userinfo.email.

A. Data Accessed

Through the requested permissions, JobDex interacts with the following specific types of Google user data:

• Primary Email Address We access your email address to identify your connected account and ensure outgoing messages are sent from the correct identity.
• Email Metadata Subject lines, sender/recipient headers, and timestamps are accessed to match communications with your CRM contacts.
• Message Content JobDex fetches the body text (HTML and plain text) of emails to display conversation history in your local timeline.
• Attachments File attachments are accessed solely to allow you to view or manage them within the context of your outreach records.

B. Data Usage & Purpose

Your Google user data is used exclusively for the following functionality within the application:

• Interaction Timelines To automatically sync and display your communication history with recruiters and hiring managers in your CRM.
• Personalized Outreach To enable you to compose and send outreach emails directly through your own Google account.
• Local Organization To categorize, filter, and search your outreach efforts within the application.

C. Data Storage, Sharing & AI Disclosure

JobDex is built on a "Local-First" architecture. All processing of Google user data happens entirely on your local machine.

• Local Encryption Data fetched from Google APIs is stored exclusively in your locally encrypted SQLite database (SQLCipher AES-256) and is never transmitted to any external server.
• No Third-Party Sharing We do not share, sell, or transfer your Google data to any third parties, including data brokers, advertising platforms, or analytics services.
• No AI/ML Training We explicitly do not use Google Workspace data to train, tune, or refine any generalized AI or machine learning models.
• No Human Review Because your data stays on your device, no human review of your email content is possible by the developers or any other party.

4. Tracking & Telemetry

We do not utilize tracking pixels to monitor our users. We do not run Google Analytics, Mixpanel, PostHog, or any user-behavior tracking engines within the app. JobDex does not "phone home" to report product usage metrics.
